What you do not know about Chinese New Year
What you do not know about Chinese New Year
Whenever and wherever, Chinese New Year is the most important festival for Chinese people all over the world. It is also called the Spring Festival or the Lunar New Year, when family members reunite and have meals together after a year’s work and study. The exact date of the Spring Festival on the Western calendar changes from year to year, so many foreigners are confused about the date of Chinese New Year.
Generally, Chinese New Year takes place between January 1 and February 19 on the Western calendar. On the Chinese calendar, every year has an animal’s name. These animals are the rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, ram, monkey, rooster, dog and pig.
A Chinese legend says that these twelve animals had a race. The first year was named after the rat, the winner. The other eleven years were named according to the order in which the animals arrived. The clever rat jumped onto the ox’s back, and then at the end jumped over the ox’s head to arrive first.
The Chinese believe that a person born in a particular year has some of the characteristics of that year. For example, if a person is born in rat’s year, he will be clever, agile and bright, and if a person is born in dog’s year, he will be brave, loyal and full of fidelity.
That’s the secret of years’ name in China. What’s your animal zodiac, and what characteristics are you supposed to have?

The most important festival, yes, but I wish people will come back home often and don't just be once a year. And when people stay at home, don't play mobile phones, chat with their parents and care more about them.If they just focus on their own world,it is meaningless even they are at home...
