In the near future, nuclear pollution will result in women's falling fertility rate and eschatological sentiment begins to spread. Human beings have lost hope because most of them can’t give birth to children. At the same time, the extremist religious forces grasp the opportunity to rise, religious armed forces occupy parts of the United States, and the Republicof Gilead is established. This religious regime is controlled by archbishop in every district. In this country, everyone has their own duties. Infertile women become servants, known as Martha. Fertile women were trained as handmaids, and sent to the Archbishop's house to give birth to children. The children can’t belong to the handmaids.
Actually,though it’s a story about future. But it actually reflects the society. In 2016, a medical research surveying 30 thousand Chinese men for 15 years showed that in 2001, over 50% of the sperm donors who fits the adge requirement had healthy sperms, while in 2015, only 18% of the sperm donors have healthy sperms. Furthermore, most of the countries around the world  have been confronted with this problem. In the last 25 years, most medical expreiments have proved that men and many animals’ sperms across the world have been troubled by sharp decline of quality even the severity of malformation. So maybe you know the reasons behind those phenomena. They must include environmental changes and chemical pollution. In order to avoid these terrible scenes troubling us again, we need to reflect on our behaviours on this planet. I hope you enjoy the drama.
