Apart from Ziyang Street, Jiangnan Badaling Great Wall, with a total length of more than 5,000 meters, is another noted tourist attraction in this historic and cultural city. The Jiangnan Badaling Great Wall was initially built in the Eastern Jin Dynasty(317-420), after several times of demolishing, rebuilding and repairing, the Wall was protected in Yuan Dynasty(1271-1368) for its function of defense. It is the national relic protection unit and national natural scenery area nowadays and being regarded as the blueprint of Beijing Badaling Great Wall. There are many beautiful spots in Jiangnan Badaling Great Wall, including Wangtian Altar, Plum Garden, Town God’s Temple and so on. Wangtian Altar, built according to the idea that the Earth was square and the Heaven was round in ancient China, was a place where Fang Guozhen, a leader in peasant uprising in Yuan Dynasty, prayed for God. Speaking in the middle of the altar, your voice will sound particularly loud and clear. In the Plum Garden planted more than 200 plum trees, and in winter, you will see a plum flower sea in the garden. Town God’s Temple, built in Tang Dynasty(618-907), is the largest temple in Linhai. Every year, it attracts thousands of tourists home and abroad.
