Houguo-A Delicious Experience
Hi, this is my first blog. Today I  am happy to share a speciality with you--houguo which have existed in Chaoshan for about 500 years. It is said that a woman who had few teeth couldn't chew food and had dyspepsia ate this dish conducive to digesting food and became healthy. Then the dish became popular with people. This speciality ,in  general, can be made up with several ingredients such as polished round-grained rice, cornstarch ,quail eggs, mushrooms and shrimps. If you want to make by yourself, you can also add other ingredients.
So the steps are as follows:
Firstly, clean all the ingredients. Follows the 3:1 ratio of sweet potato starch and polished round-grained rice,  than add warm water to make the batter.
Secondly, make the bowl lightly oiled and pour a spoon of batter, adding with quail eggs, mushrooms and so on.
Thirdly, add more batter to wrap up the ingredients previously put in.
Fourthly, steam the bowl of  houguo with big fire and put the cover on the pot.
Fifthly, upside the bowl down and let it cool .
Lastly, put the houguo in the heated oil with big fire and then fry with slow fire until the houguo is covered with a thin and crsip crust. Then take it out of the pot and drain off the oil. Please enjoy that!
