Chinese calligraphy is an ancient art of writing Chinese characters, from the oracle bone inscriptions, inscriptions on drum-shaped stone blocks, Jinwen (inscriptions on ancient bronze objects) evolution for minor, seal script, official script, to finalize the monastery, wei, jin, cursive script, regular script, running script, etc., have been sending out the charm of art of calligraphy. Chinese calligraphy is one of the unique visual arts. The Chinese character is an important factor in Chinese calligraphy, because the Chinese calligraphy is produced and developed in Chinese culture. The Chinese characters are one of the basic elements of Chinese culture. Based on Chinese characters, it is the main symbol of Chinese calligraphy that is different from other kinds of calligraphy.
Calligraphy is the essence of Chinese culture. It can be found everywhere in China, and is closely linked to daily life. Calligraphic works decorate the living room, the schoolroom and the bedroom. The Chinese characters are written on Xuan paper which is good at absorbing ink. The work will be pasted on a piece of thick paper with a silk edge, and then mounted on a scroll or put into a picture frame for hanging on the wall. 
Usually, the calligraphic works are a poem, a pair of couplets or a motto which the owner likes very much. If the calligraphic work is written by the owner himself, it will demonstrate his wish and interest as well as his literary or artistic talent. A calligraphic work can bring vitality to the white wall, pleasure to guests and friends.
